Arra Vineyards is a little wine farm about 40 minutes’ drive from Cape Town. Just after Klapmuts on the R44, you’ll find a little dirt road that leads straight up to the vineyard. There’s a cosy tasting room in the heart of their wine production space, this caters for a nice vineyard background while you sit back and enjoy some wine. Don’t let the size of the wine farm fool you as they produce 16 different types of wine.

You can order a cheese and cold meat platter to nibble on, which was all locally sourced I was told. Unfortunately, the rain decided to go along for the ride and we had to shelter inside. This was a pity as I’m sure the deck and open “lounge” overlooking the estate would make for a nice spot to be for your daily dose of UV rays.
